About Connect Kākou

Connect Kākou is a State of Hawaiʻi initiative led by Governor Josh Green and Lieutenant Governor Sylvia Luke. Using more than $400 million in federal funds, we’re working to ensure that every resident of Hawai’i has access to broadband Internet – plus the skills and devices they need to use the Internet.

Hawaiʻi’s Connection to the Internet

Hawaiʻi's broadband infrastructure is out-of-date. Many rural areas lack access. Connect Kākou is working to address these issues and ensure everyone in our state has access to a fast, reliable Internet connection.

Digital Literacy & Readiness: Skills and Resources

We’re working to achieve digital literacy and readiness. That is when everyone can use technology effectively to fully participate in our society and economy. This includes:

  • the skills to navigate the Internet
  • access to a digital device, such as a laptop or tablet
  • broadband Internet service at home

We want every resident of Hawaiʻi to be able to use digital technologies to improve their quality of life.
